Machining
Capabilities
CNC
TURNING - Turning (CNC) operations are
performed on precision computerized numerically controlled
lathes. On our Hardinge “Conquest 42’s”,
are capable of holding extremely close tolerances of
+/-.0001", and with multiple machines we are capable
of expediting your job in a timely and precise manner.
Utilizing CAD CAM aids us in running your job quickly
and efficiently.
CNC
MILLING - Milling (CNC) operations are
performed on precision computerized numerically controlled
vertical machining centers. Our FADAL 4020HT VMC's have
location repeatability of +/- .0001" and can contour
at 375 inches per minute accurately. We machine at 10,000
rpm on a regular basis to get you your parts without
delay. Rigid tapping can also be performed up to 3000
rpm with depth repeatability at +/-.0005. Our machines
will also engrave and serial number your parts at a
fraction of the time of an engraving shop.
CONVENTIONAL
TURNING &
MILLING - Production
at Steer varies from simple to complex machining, utilizing
conventional machinery includes; standard engine lathes
and milling machines. Our engine lathes vary in size
from 12"SW X 24" to 32"SW X 74".
Manual milling capabilities range from standard Bridgeport
to large K&T horizontal and vertical mills.
SINGLE
POINT THREAD CUTTING - At times the
Manu-Cycle threading lathe is more cost effective than
CNC and just as accurate. With a 3" spindle bore
we produce acme or standard 60 degree threads of varied
lengths in just about any pitch. This machine produces
a phenomenal cut thread and some of our customers have
told us the threads are ground quality.
WELDING
- Large 5' X 12' Acorn welding platen. We MIG, TIG,
or Arc steel and aluminum every day. See our brochure
for some of our large and smaller parts.
SAW
CUTTING - Automatic
production saw cutting in within +/-.010. For cutting
high volume accurately which means less waste and faster
machining time, saving the customer money.
